THOSE DAMN EAGLES
Read an article about the so-called "overachieving" Blue Eagles just now. I'm telling you this is a good one.
- "UP Coach Lito Vergara once wrote the following words on his team's locker room: "We may not have the best team in the league, but we have the biggest hearts." Was he referring to his neighbors from Katipunan Avenue?"
- "Yes, dear friends from De La Salle, this is the stuff Ateneans are made off. When we say, "Mary for you, for your white and blue," or, "Win or lose, it’s the school we choose," WE ACTUALLY MEAN IT. "
- "Unfortunately, for the Platos and Aristotles of the basketball world, the Blue Eagles are in the brink of another championship. In at least four games, the championship can be redelivered to Katipunan, by way of Morayta, of course. "
Does this mean that these damn eagles are assuming that they are coming back to the finals? Dear friend from THE Ateneo, we didn't ask if you meant those words. I know you all do. But wait. Is our friend here telling us that UP coach Lito Vergara is actually referring to them? Hello?! The man is UP's head coach . Ateneo didn't even win a game against final four teams in the second round while UP strung up 6 straight games, eventually losing to the Archers. Earth calling our friend from the ateneo: please lower your heads back to the ground.
I'm sorry for blasting that article. Yes, ateneo is a good school. If not the best. But please don't shove it in our faces that "We're from THE Ateneo. What's your school again?" I mean, they are not just the GOOD school here in the Philippines.
Sorry, I'm just excited for this sunday, when our Green Archers, hopefully, dismantle those damn eagles. I'm really hoping they do.
Animo La Salle!
Peace out!
